Workers Safety Program Risk Summit

Members of Peace Church Workers Safety Program (PCWSP) convened a meeting of the Risk Management Committee in Denver on August 21 & 22. With discussions led by representatives from Travelers, First Stop Health, IMA and Resource Partners, topics covered during the two-day summit, included:

  • Reframing views on behaviors and care for individuals with dementia
  • Working in collaboration with the insurance company
  •  OSHA inspection procedures
  • Creating a culture of safety
  •  Employee mental health

Committee members also participated in round table sessions allowing them to share strategies and collaborate on techniques leading communities in the practice of risk management.

Because risk management and claims management are critical to the success of any workers compensation program. Both play pivotal roles in protecting businesses from economic loss, ensuring employee well-being, and maintaining a positive workplace culture.

By identifying hazards, implementing safety protocols, and providing employee training, organization scan significantly reduces the likelihood of accidents, reducing both severity and frequency of incidents. Effective claims management includes prompt investigations, documentation of findings and communication with both injured workers and the insurance carrier. These techniques are integrated into the Peace Church Workers Safety Program and modeled by member communities. Through implementation, members provide a much safer work environment for employees and stabilize workers compensation rates.
